Key Factors That Influence Your Tree Surgery Quote
No two tree jobs are identical. Arborists calculate custom estimates based on several operational factors:
- Tree Size & Height: Taller, broader trees require higher climbing gear, aerial rigging, and increased safety measures.
- Location & Access: North London terraced homes often have limited rear access (sometimes through narrow side gates or the house itself). Dragging timber and brushwood through tight passages adds labour time.
- Proximity to Structures & Hazards: Work over conservatories, glass roofs, power lines, or public pavements requires controlled lowerings with heavy-duty rigging ropes and pulleys.
- Tree Health & Structural Stability: Dead, decayed, or storm-damaged trees pose higher climbing hazards and may require crane or mobile elevated platform access.
- Waste Removal & Chipping: Recycling green waste and haulage fees are included in professional fixed-price quotes.
Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and Council Approvals
In many North London boroughs, trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or located inside a designated Conservation Area. Submitting council applications is standard practice, and reputable companies like North London Trees handle all local authority paperwork on your behalf prior to commencing work.
